Welcome to Vintage Motors of Lyons

Front of the shop in Lyons

We sell, consign, purchase, and locate cars of interest for folks that appreciate them. We  always carry an eclectic selection of classics. Whether you are wanting that perfect  Sunday driver, a project car, or a higher end investment, we probably have a car that you will enjoy!

I have been passionate about cars since I was a kid in the '50's and '60's and bought my first car while in high school, which was a then 10 year old 1958 MGA. Since then I have enjoyed and nurtured many classics, both foreign and domestic. I decided to follow and share my passion for cars by creating a welcoming marketplace to not only sell cars, but open a place for everyone to come in and check out and talk cars, look at car books, magazines, posters, artwork, etc..

Our shop was originally built as a Texaco gas station in the 1940's and is conveniently located at the junction of the two highways leading to the Rocky Mountains just north west of Boulder. You won't miss us at the west end of Main Street.  Lyons is a fun, small town offering nationally known live music festivals and brewpub; shops and great fly fishing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, and mountain biking.  The South St. Vrain Canyon is among many great driving roads in the area.

The best part of this business has been all of the great people we meet. Thanks for visiting our site and I hope to meet you whenever you are in the area.

1967 Porsche 912 – Sold

1967 Porsche 912, 4 Speed, Short Wheelbase Coupe For Sale. Very original, straight, dry car (Nevada, Texas, Colorado). Well sorted and in excellent running and driving condition. Ready to enjoy; drive anywhere. Polo Red with Black Leatherette, Fuchs, correct Hella Fogs, all Matching Numbers/COA.

JUST SOLD – THANK YOU!

This Porsche was sold new in Nevada and purchased there in 2006 (which is as far back as we have records).  It lived in Texas just briefly and was brought to Colorado by the same owner that same year with 115,000 miles on it (car currently has 127,500 miles). We then sold this vehicle for that owner in August 2011 with approx. 121,407 miles. Both prior owners are Porsche enthusiasts and have maintained the car very well with all service records/parts receipts with the car. We are very pleased to offer this great 912 for sale once again as the prior owner is moving on to another car.

This is Porsche # 463123 and is an all matching numbers car. Repainted sometime prior to 2006 in original color Polo Red. The body is straight with no indication of any prior damage. The paint is very good quality and exhibits a great shine. There are several minor blems and touch ups from use and two small dings in the front bumper strip. Other than these, the entire exterior of the car is very good, especially good for a 50 year old car!

The 912 is a car that invites the driver.  It loves to be driven in a spirited manner and is a light, well balanced car with wonderful handling. You can drive this car at or near its limit and feel one with the car. As Jimmy Clark said after driving a 912 on the serpentine of Brunig Pass in Switzerland: “Finally ! A car that stays under your backside”!

Five gauge, painted dash. Dash and both upper and lower dash pads are in excellent condition,as are front seats, without any cracks or tears. Note original type rubber floor mats; carpeted mats with car as well.

The only real blems on the interior are scuff marks on the vinyl covering the tops of the rear wheel wells and the headliner is slightly discolored and loose at the corners of the pop out rear windows.

Aside from rear lower corners the rest of the headliner is in very good condition.
